Carmina Burana

Wat heel leuk dag ik was op acht uur opstaan. Effen douche en bij het oost kerk bij 9:15. Daar was een honderd mensen daar te oefenen en we hebben het hele ochtend en middag geoefend.Met elke keer ietsje beter worden. Het Carmina is wel veel maar ook makkelijk als je goed geoefend. Daarna hebben geluncht en het orkest mag oefenen. Iedereen was heel benieuwend dat ik een Amerikaan was en dat ik was in Nederland wonen. Na het orkest klaar was, we hebben met elkaar geoefend. Ook met een nieuw director, en dat was een klein probleem want hij ging sneller en was niet zo dodelijk. Maar ja, na een paar minuten later klinkend het goed. Dan was het tijd om te eten en ook pauze tot achter uur s' avonds voor het concert. Het concert was heel leuk en het koor klinkt goed. Soms klein foutjes maar dat is gewoon voor een koor dat had maar één keer geoefend. Daarna blijft Jan en ik om hallo te zeggen naar een paar mensen een een drankje de paken. Eindelijk ben ik nu al thuis en ook blij van het avond en ook dat de Philadelphia Union heeft gewonnen tegen Columbus. Tot zo!

What's really nice day. I was getting up at eight hours. A quick shower and at the East church by 9:15. There stood a hundred people there we practiced through whole morning and afternoon. Getting a little better each time. The Carmina is a lot but also easy if you practice. Then we had lunch and while orchestra got to practice. Everyone was very interested that I was an American and that I was living in the Netherlands. After the orchestra was ready, we practiced together. With a new director, and that was a small problem because he was faster and was not so clear. But yes, after a few minutes later, we sounded good. Then was time to eat and also to wait until the concert. The concert was very nice and the chorus sounded great. Sometimes small mistakes but that's normale for a choir that had practiced only once together. After that Jan and I stayed to say hello to a few people, and to grab a few drinks. Finally I am now home and happy from this evening and that the Philadelphia Union won against Columbus.  See you soon!
