Home

Ik ben thius, met mijn moeder en zus in Philadelphia. Het voelt een beetje raar maar ook heel goed om thuis te zijn. Mijn bed na een hele jaar voelt geweldig. Ik kan niet zeggen hoe blij ik hier in Nederland was dit jaar. Te alle mensen bij OSG en rond Nederland ik dank u, u allemaal voor uw hulp, vriendschappen, ondersteunen, en een kans om me te leven. Van mijn leven zo ver was dit jaar het beste, mooiste, en ik zal het en jullie nooit vergeten. Zaterdag ben ik weer thuis, maar ik denk dat Nederland is een stukje thuis geworden voor mij, en ik kijk ernaar uit naar de toekomst om terug te komen naar thuis.

 I am back home, with my Mom and my sister in Philadelphia. It feels weird to be home but also very good. My bed after an entire year away felt amazing. I cannot say how happy I am to have done this year in Holland. To all the people at OSG and around Nederland I want to thank you. Thank you all for your outstanding help, friendship, support, and to give me a chance to live you all. Of my life so far was this year by far the best. I will never forget all of you. Saturday I am home, but I think that Nederland has become a small home for me along side the US, and I look to the future to come back home.

Weekend In Oudega

Vrijdag:

Eerste dag terug op het camping in Oudega en het weer kan niet beter zijn. Ik was nog heel moe in de auto maar in de avond ik heb een super leuk groep mensen gevonden. Ze waren Karel, Jenine, Martijn, en twee andere maar ik ben slecht met namen. Het eerste nacht was gevuld met tafelvoetbal en kaart spelletjes.

Zaterdag:

Iets te vroeg opgestaan maar dan had ik tijd om een paar hoofdstukken te lezen uit Harry Potter 5. Door de dag was ik op het water op een surf plank. Ik durft het voor de tweede keer en het lukt een beetje. Met meer tijd ik denk dat ik kunnen wel oké surfen. Mijn probleem was terug komen. Karel en Jenine surft mee en ze geef allebei tips en hulp. Ik was ook bij de caravan van Karel en Jenine om te praten met zijn ouders wie zijn heel aardig en de moeder lijkt een beetje op mijn moeder. We zou praten over de gewon dingen en hoe het was in de VS. Jenine wil een jaar in de VS doen dus ze had natuurlijk veel vragen over scholen steden etc... Ook Karel had zijn knie gewonden op de fin van zijn surf plank, en zijn moeder moest zuster spelen. Later in de middag kwam Floor, de zus van Karel, op de kamping. We ging veel gek dingen doen met haar en hebben een gek loop en ons versie van de Lama lidje.

Zondag:

Zondag was weer een dag op het water, chillen bij de camper, en een avontuur naar Sneek in de autodingen doen samen met ons, meestal surfing. Die avond na een tijdje in de “club huis” ging we met onze vier terug naar de tenten. Maar Floor en ik zag dat het helder was een perfect om te sterren te zien dus we makt een 180 en ging terug naar de strand tot drie of vier uur. We prat over veel verschillende dingen maar mestla kijken naar de hemel, zoeken voor falen sterren.

Maandag:

Tijd om alles in te pakken en denk aan mijn laatste week in Nederland. Floor en Karel kwam langs toen ik aan het afwas was aan het drogen en we neemt ons afscheiden. Floor helpt met drogen. Daarna we ging met de auto naar Balk om Jelle van Vinea oppakken. En dan was het tijd om naar huis te gaan.

Being Home

Well its been a week since I have touched down, and it has been a wild ride. Since then I went to an out door music festival at the Festival pier. Some of the acts included Arty, Madeon, Eric Prydz, Noisia, and a bunch more. I went there with a bunch of friends and it was the best way to come home.
After that it was time to get down to business, that Monday I visited my school to arrange meetings with my principal and to receive my working papers. I did this all the in very hot and steamy weather so a change of clothing as retreating into AC was very much needed.

Tuesday brought an early morning meaning with my Principal and there after I went shopping around the great Philadelphia area with Bengt. First stop was Koals, where he found a T-shirt, there after a quick bite to eat at Elevation Burger before going to The Gap, followed by The Apple Store. At the Apple Store I had my computer checked all around to see if there was anything that needed to be worked on. Which there fortunately wasn't. After the Apple store we headed out to King of Prussia to find the H&M which took a little searching but we found it in the end. There Bengt got a few shirts and myself one shirt.

Wednesday; I relaxed at home and read m biology book. I'm moving quickly through it thankfully for my classes this past year. I just need to learn everything before August 29th or 30th.

Thursday; I headed into center city to visit my cousin at Penn and also to attend a tour of the University. The University of Penn is the oldest University in the United States and has been first in many aspects. UPenn as its known is split between its four schools; Arts and Sciences, Warton (Business and Economics), Engineering and Applied Sciences, and the Penn Nursing School. UPenn is also one of the Ivy league schools, with their rival being Princeton in sport. The tour introduced me to the programs financial packets, the campus and what sort of life studying there entails.

The past weekend and the absoulte final day of school

So this weekend was a crazy one and a late one (that's why there were no blog posts). Here's a short summary from the past week.

Saturday: After sleeping in this morning it was time to clean up a little more and then to go to Joëlle's house for her birthday party which had a 50's theme. It was a great time with everyone in 50s style clothing and hair (myself included), music, the only thing missing were the cars. I got to challenge Tijs one last time in arm wrestling and unfortunately I lost, and Jet had made the deal that who ever lost had to go shirtless the rest of the night. I lost and so there for I went shirtless :P The weather held off for the most part, and people were able to sit outside on the deck as well.

Sunday: Finally time to rest but not entirely. I began to really clean out my room of papers and what not that I don't need anymore. Also I continued to plan out my last few weeks in Nederland.

Monday: The first floor was completely empty besides the table and the piano. Tineke began re-oiling the floors and so that ment no shoes or socks and dinner was eaten on the couch due to the weather keeping us inside.

Tuesday: The final final day of school! Today we turned our books in and received our report cards. I was missing one book but I will return it on Thursday. Also today my homeroom went bowling after eating lunch by Lotte N. 's house. I didn't have a great game but it was still a ton of fun with everyone. Afterwards time to pack and settle last minute plans

Afscheiden Going Away

What a absolutely amazing day and night. Today I had my going away party. On Thursday Max and I bought all the drinks and food for the party. We were able to buy the left over drink from Cathy who still had much left over. Then on Friday there were almost 40 people by the party. Lotte made an amazing card for me that was super large and on the inside everyone could write a short message for me, and on the front a great picture/painting. Everyone seemed to have a great time, I had the music playing with pictures from the entire year, some people brought drinks, gifts, or other food, Lisanne brought an apple pie (which we ate at the end when there were less people. What was also really nice was the weather was dry and everyone could also sit outside. In the end there was also not much to clean up and nothing was broken. What was a little funny was that during the party no one spilled their drink but then when Tineke was helping with putting away the left over one fell all over the floor!

I received so many beautiful gifts from everyone, as well as amazing letters and messages on the card and photo album. I really can't say how happy and sad I felt when reading them all. Im wearing the bracelet from Yentel and saving the Hollandbitter for when I get home. I do still need to play the boardgames (maybe with my mom). Thank you all so very much and I can't wait to come back!

Eerste dag van vakantie

Wat is beter dan uitslapen chillen met muziek maken, en ook een midag met een vriend? Dat was vandaag en ik was met Max bezig met boodschappen voor mijn afschijdsfeest. We haald al de drank, en snacks nodig voor een heel gezellig avond. Morgen ga ik allees opruimen en klaar voor de fesst. Ik heb al bijn kamer gedaan dus dat is een minder ding te doen. Smiddags tot savonds was is bezig met plannen van mijn kaatste paar weken in Nederland en ook lezen van Harry Potter natuurijk.

What is better than sleeping in, chilling with making music, and hanging out with a friend in the afternoon? That was today and In the afternoon Max came over to help with getting all the snacks and drinks needed to make for a fun night tomorrow for my Going Away Party. Tomorrow i am going to clean everything up and prep the house for the party. I already cleaned my room up so that's one less thing to do. In the afternoon and the early evening i was busy with planning the last few weeks i have in Holland, and of coue reading more of Harry Potter in Dutch.

Klaar Done

Het is klaar. Ik had mijn laatste les dag vandaag en het voelt erg raar. Raar om te denken dat ik zou deze mensen misschien nooit weer zien, na alles die ze voor mij gedaan hebben door dit jaar. Soms vind het ook raar hoe ik heb dit jaar echt gedaan een niet altijd denken dat mijn cijfers maak helemaal niet uit. Ik heb echt probeert om goeie cijfers te halen. En dat heb ik gedaan, in een paar van mijn vakken heb ik hoger cijfers dan mijn klasgenoten.
Dus ik denk dat dit jaar een succes was. En ik ben nog trots op mijzelf.

It's over. I had my last day of class today and it felt really strange. Strange to think that I will probably never seen the people at school ever again, after everything they have done for me this year. Some people find it strange that instead of taking the easy road I took the long hard road by taking school seriously and trying to earn good grades. Which I have done, in some of my classes I have better grades than my class mates.
So after everything I think this year was a success. And for that I am proud with myself.

Maar een meer les dag Just one more days of lessons

Het was een heel kort dagje op school vandaag. Met maar drie uren les en elke les was niet nieuw informatie maar alleen over de toetsen te bespreken. Maar het was ook een van de laatste keren om iedereen te zien voor dat het school jaar voorbij is en iedereen ga weg op vakantie. Dus het was wel nog leuk.

Thuis heb ik veel van Harry Potter gelezen en ook ik heb mijzelf een opdracht gegeven voor deze zomer. Sinds mijn wiskunde zo slecht is, ik wil proberen om bijna alles van de Khan Acadamy oefening af maken. Dan kan ik zekere weten dat mijn basis goed is.

It was an extremely short day at school today. With just three lessons and each only about the tests and not anything new. But the day was still nice because I got a chance to see everyone for one of the last times before the school year is over and everyone goes away on vacation.

At home I read lots of Harry Potter, and gave myself a new challenge. Since my math is so bad, I want to try and complete all the practice on the Khan Acadamy's website. Then I will know that my foundations are good (or not).

Goed Afsluiting Good Ending

Een goed manier om het toets week af te sluiten is altijd met een goed toets. Dat heb ik gedaan met biologie. Het toets ging het goed met maar een vraag waar ik niet zekere was van wat ze wilt voor een antwoord.

Na de toets ging ik naar huis waar mijn heren was klaar. Ik kon niets spellen of typen. Dus ik zat gewon in mijn bed te lezen en muziek te luisteren.

Later belt mijn vader net voor ik ging naar het verjaardag feest van Vera en Cathy. Het was een heel leuk feestje!

A good way to end the exam week is to close it off with a good test. Thats exactly what I did with Biology. The test went really well except for one question where I wasn't sure what they wanted for an answer.

After the test I went back home where my brain was done. I couldn't spell or type anything. So I just sat in bed reading and listening to music.

Later my Dad called me just before I went to the Birthday party of Vera and Cathy. It was a really fun party and with many people outside of the usual suspects.

I know I haven't posted anything this past week and that was because I was up everynight trying to cram as much information into my head as possible. Unfortunately I slipped on two classes and now I don't have a high enough average to pass this year. So I didn't reach my secondary goal but I have reached my first which was to learn Dutch. Otherwise nothing too special has been going on this week. Yesterday after my Chemistry test I went to Tijs's house with Max to play lacrosse and soccer, along with a few games of Fifa12.
Next week and until the end of my year I will make sure to post something each day!

Onweer Thunderstorm

Als gisteren was een lang dag, vandaag was een heel kort dag. Maar omdat ik heb meest van mijn vrij tijd gebruikt om te leren en andere mensen helpen met zijn ANW POs, de dag voelt net zo lang.

Vanavond was er een heel snel maar zwaar storm. Ik zat boven in mijn kamer te kijken tussen wiskunde werk.

If yesterday was a long day then today was a very short day. But it felt as if it was just as long or longer because I spend most of my free time studying for math. Also I was helping many people finish up their presentations for ANW.

This evening was there a very short but very strong thunderstorm and I sat in my room watching all the lightning while still studying.

Extreme lang Dag Extremely long day

Vanaf half negen tot half zes zat ik op school vandaag. Het was begonnen met ANW presentaties. Ze zijn allemaal heel goed en ik ben benieuwd wie mag zijn presentatie op het site van OSG zetten. Daarna door naar CKW, Informatica, scheikunde waar ik heb mijn duim verbrand met gekookt chocolade water (niet melk). Daarna een leuk twee uren van wiskunde. Na wiskunde werkt Merle en ik heel lang aan ons Natuurkunde verslag. Het is nog niet klaar maar bijna en het was half zes toen we zij dat het te laat was en tijd om naar huis te gaan.

I was at schrool from eight thirty to five thirty today. The day began with ANW presentations. All of them were really good and I am interested in seeing who gets to post their projects on the school website. Afterdat CKW, Computers, Chem where I burnt my thumb on boiling chocolate water (not milk). Afterwards a block hour of math which was rather fun. After Math Merle and I stayed at school to finish our Physics project. It isn't finished yet but almost, and it was five thirty when we said that it was getting too late and time to go home.

Wat is met dit weer?!?

En vandaag was het perfect weer! Droog, warm, zon, een beetje wind. Meer kun je niet voor vragen. Maar ja, ik word wakker om negen uur en rustig naar school toe omdat ik de eerste drie uur vrij had. Daar heb ik geholpen met ANW projecten. De rest van de dag was niet zo goed. Ik krijgt steeds zwaarder en zwaardere hoofdpijn tot ik voelt ziek. Ik probeert meer water te drinken en ook eten. Maar niks werkt. Dus ik probeert slaap en die werkt ook niet. Alleen tot na avond eten ging mijn hoofdpijn een beetje weg.

Helemaal Nut

Ik maakt een heel slecht keuze vanochtend, nou twee. Het eerste was om heel laat wakker te worden in plaats van op tijd, en de tweede was om mijn regen broek niet me te nemen. Ik dacht dat het regent niet zo hard en dat het veilig was met maar en regen jas en gewoon broek nar school te gaan. Maar ik was fout. Toen ik OK school was, mijn broeken waren helemaal nut. Gym was bij Sport Centrum Hoorn omdat elke binnen zaal bij school was gevuld. Het wordt een leuk ochtend van squash en daarna natuurkunde. In het tweede uur van Natuurkunde ging is naar huis om Lewis uit te laten omdat Tineke en Jan weg waren naar een begrafenis toe. Gelukkig stopt het met regen toen ik terug naar huis fietst en Lewis uitgelaten.

Utrecht Terwijde

This weekend I was in a new part of Utrecht. It is a brand new district of 80 thousand people, basically a new town to add onto Utrecht. But it is a truly dream district. With nice housing that isn't, really close to everything, a 9km rollerskating/bike/running path that runs through the district, forests, open fields, petting zoo, beach, train station, and its very young so there are lots of kids. But what I found most amazing was how green it was. There were trees, flowers, grass everywhere and made everything look very nice. Margreet is a friend of my Mom's when she studied in Utrecht and they were almost joined at the hip when my mom was here. Her husband is very active and we went running through the forest on saturday. We ran a total of 12km but with the hills and sand it felt more like 24km!  Then Margreet and I went biking and thats where I got to see the district.
Over all it was a very fun weekend, and I now know that I must go back to Margreet and Bert before going home in just under a month and a half!

25 Years

It is the 25ft anniversary of Tineke and Jans wedding today. To celebrate, we spent the day on an historic flat bottomed clipper with so many friends and family as we could fit into the mess hall and bar space! The weather was at first very heavy and for us sailors was no problem but not everyone has sea legs, so luckily the sea calmed. Everyone was beaming and shared all stories about Tineke and Jan. I along with Wouter were the photographers and we have many many pictures capturing all of those smiling faces. Fun fact: my father was the photographer at the wedding of Tineke and Jan, and I for the 25 anniversary. Maybe my child will be there for the 50th!
After lunch we visited what used to be an island but is now connected to the land by a dike. The town is very very traditional and all the buildings are extremely small, maybe two wing spans squared per floor. Going to the town was also a chance for everyone to stabs on solid ground for a little while before going back to the boat. Once back Kees has been setting up a projector and everyone had readied a presentation and production for Tineke and Jan. With songs, speeches, and quizzes. Everything was perfect and our faces were sore from smiling. Afterwards was a BBQ on the boat. Since the whether had settled we used the two swords to hold the boat in place. There was an guitarist onboard too so we were singing until we all had sore throats. In the end Wouter and Kees gave speeches and quizzed Tineke and Jan. Thankfully they got the answers right! After Jan and Tieneke had some words to say, and what was one of the funniest parts of the evening Kees bought Jan his favorite whiskey, little did he know jan bought the same exact whiskey for Kees because he had organized everything so perfectly.
When we reached home we opened one of the whiskers and talked about many things and because Tesse was there we had to see all the baby photos of Kees. Then Kees, Tesse, Wouter, Jelle, and I all went into Hoorn to party the night away.

Zeilen Wedstrijd Sailing Race

Wat een dag! Sorry ik heb niks geschreven maar ik was kapot. Ik om acht uur opgestaan voor een hele dag van zeilen wedstrijden met Teo. Het begon om half elf maar zij waren om 10:25 begonnen dus wij lopt drie minuten achter. Maar met goeie teamwork en tactics we hebben vierde geplaatst in het eerste race. De tweede was veel korter en daar heben we tweede geplaatst. Het wind blijft goed (niet zo sterk maar ook niet zacht). Ik had veel geleerd voor de derde en final race, toen het tijd was te starten, wij had onze boat net op het lijn maar een beetje scheef. Het was een spannende wedstrijd en met alle verschillende klassen booten. Op het eind Teo maakt een heel geoie kose en maakt het mogelijk om het laatste stuk helemaal recht door te maken met top snelheid. Met de dag achter ons we waren tweede van de dag en derde van het weekend.
Dit was mijn eerste zeiling wedstijd die ik heb ooit live gezien en ook mijn eerste wedstrijd waar ik een meenemer was (met kleiner boten dan de Eendracht)

Dan toen ik terug was, wouter verhuurd Intouchables voor onze te kijken.

What a day! Sorry I didn't write anything but I was really tired. I was up at eight o'clock, and immediately went sailing with Teo. The races were sopposed to begin at 10:30 but they started early and we were three minutes behind, but with good teamwork and tactics we were able to pull into fourth for the first race. The second race was much shorter and there we placed in second. I had learned a lot from the first two races and was ready for the third and final race of the day, when it began we had a good position on the line but we went a little out of the wind. It was a spanned and fast race, with every class of the day taking part. In the last leg Teo made a great decision to tack earlier and to make a bee line for the end line after a second tack. The wind had been blowing the same direction in the area all day so it was a good choice. We rocketed past everyone and I had the lean so far over the side that I was a few centimeters above the water. The the day behind us we were second of the day and third of the weekend.
The was the first time I ever saw a sail race in person, and also took part (with smaller boats then the Eendracht)
Then when I was back home, Wouter renten Intouchables for us to see.

Iedereen is thuis Everyone is home

Zo heerlijk begin van het dag, met mooi weer en licht lessen. Daarna was het ki hard aan de slag om de walkthrough van mijn ANW gebouw to maken en ook de plattegrond van Lotte en Jet's gebouw te maken. Bij ANW spreek ik met mijn leraar over het verschillen tussen het school systeem in Nederland en de VS. Het is nu moeilijker om de verschillen te zien omdat ik ben hier all bijna 11 maanden!

Bij thuis was iedereen bezig met schoon maken en voorbereiding te doen voor het feest morgen. Ook Rusland tegen Tsjechische Republiek. Rusland had het makkelijk met een 3-1 score. Kees en Tesse kwam rond half tien en Wouter tien over twaalf.

So wonderful start of the day, with good weather and light classes. Then it was super hard working on the walkthrough of my building for ANW and also the map of Lotte and Jet's building it. In ANW I spook with my teacher about the differences between the school system in the Netherlands and the USA. It is now difficult to see the differences because I'm here nearly 11 years!



At home everyone was busy cleaning and preparation to do for the party tomorrow. Also to watch Russia against the Czech Republic. Russia had it easy with a 3-1 score. Kees and Tesse kwan around half past nine and Wouter ten past twelve.

Free Running

Wat een vet maar moeilijk sport! Vandaag bij gym hebben we Free-Running gedaan. Het is super vet maar ik vond het een stuk lastig. Meik is een Free-Runner dus voor hem was het makkelijk en leuk, en ook voor een paar andere mensen wie kon het doen vanaf het eerste keer. We geoefend een paar verschillende moves, en een opwarming warme iedereen zal spierpijn krijgen denk ik.
Ook vandaag had ik een Engels toets, en het was natuurlijk makkelijk.

Slecht Dag Bad Day

Wat een slecht dag. Eigenlijk was het beginner zo erg alleen vervelend omdat onze experiment was kwijt gemaakt. We hebben het opnieuw opgezet en moet een nog een dag wachten. Anders was vandaag niet zo erg tot schermen, of meer in de trein. Ik had vergeten om te inchecken en ik was gecontroleerd. Nu moet is een goed stuk geld betaalden. Ik heb het lesson de moeilijk manier geleerd deze keer. Schermen was goed en ik maat een break-through met concentratie. Jammer ik had niet genoeg tijd om het te oefenen omdat ik moest mijn spullen repatriëren. Maar ook de hele tijd voelt ik heel slecht van het trein bont.

What an awful dag. The beginning wasn't that bad, but more irritating because our experiment was fouled up. We have reset everything and now have to wait a little longer. The rest of the day was also not too bad until fencing. Or more the train to fencing. I forgot to check in because I was about to miss the train and then was checked by the conductor. Since I hadn't paid I now have to pay a decent chuck of money. This really threw a damper on the rest of the night. At Fencig I made a breakthrough with concentration. It's too bad I didn't get a chance to practice it because I was busy fixing all of my stuff which all at the same time broke.

Onderzoek/ouwehoeren Research/oldwhores

Ik hebben begonnen met mijn biologisch onderzoek vandaag. Ik was op school om acht uur, om te voorbereiden. We hadden eerst een probleem met de materialen te vinden. Ze waren niet in het juiste plek. Maar daarna ging het weer goed en nu loopt hij door het dag en nacht metening.

Vanavond waren Jan en Jelle weg naar het tennis vereniging gegaan, en Tineke en ik kijkt naar een interessant en grappig documentaire die gaat over twee eeneiig zussen ouwe hoeren. Het was echt vreemde voor mij.

I have started my biological research today. I was at school at eight o'clock, to prepare. We first had a problem with finding the materials. They were not in the right place. But then things went well afterwords, and now it's working through the day and night.

Tonight Jan and Jelle went to the tennis club, and Tineke and I watched a very interesting and funny documentary that is about two identical twin sisters who are old whores. It was really strange for me.

Brand! Nee, niet echt.

Hoe spannend, vanavond Tineke en ik waren aan Undercover Boss kijken toen langs kwam een brandweer wagon langs en stopt bij de buurmanen. Natuurlijk gaan we naar buiten te kijken wat is er aan de hand. Daar vond we een nog een brandwagon en drie politie auto's! Iemand had heel veel rook buiten een van de huizen komen gezien, maar uit eindelijk was het uit een klein piep en gewoon een slecht verwarming apparaat die heel hard aan geschakeld was. Dus het word niks behalve een paar interessant minuten.

Vermoeid

Na de feest van Pien gisteren was/ben ik nog heel moe. Het was geweldig maar voor de redt van de dag had ik te veel/te weinig energie (als dat klopt). Ik hebben huiswerk gedaan, hulp gegeven naar Jelle met zijn school project, en nieuw edits van "iets" en "opening" gedaan. De rest? Lezen en half slapen. Jan was voor tennis weg de hele middag. Tineke was ook voor een stuk weg, ook we zijn allemaal proberen een paar nieuw commando's aan Lewis te leren.

Bezig Busy

Lekker bezig was ik vandaag. Ik loop een hoofdstuk voor in Biologie, scheikunde is bijna klaar, ik hebben het derde deel van Harry Potter uit gelezen en nu heb ik met het vierde begonnen, ook is het derde podcast is uit morgen ochtend voor jullie EDM lief hebbers.

Terug naar normaal Back to normal

Het weer was weer normaal en ook zo was mijn dag. Met wiskunde, biologie, natuurkunde en Nederlands was is wel een vol half dag. Dan was het tijd om huiswerk te maken en een stuk van een liedje. Eten, trein, veder met huiswerk, en daarna schermen tot half elf. Ik zie altijd veel interessant in de kleide kamer en bij het station vorig week was ik en arts die praatte met mij over hoe heet drank is nuttig als het wordt buiten heet, en deze keer en tennisser uit Senegal. Schermen was wel leuk en ik was steeds beter de hele avond door. Ook is de nieuw podcast klaar voor vrijdag.

The weather was back to normal same with my day. With math, bio, physics, and Dutch it was full half day. Then it was time to do homework, and begin a new part of a song. Afterwards, dinner, jump on the train,more homework, fencing, train, and home again to sleep and begin tomorrow. Also the podcast is ready for Friday.

Gefeliciteerd Jan

Jan heeft de elfstedentocht gemaakt op zijn fiets samen met een paar duizenden andere mensen. Het weer was perfect en dank voor genoeg kort pauzen had hij geen laatst van zijn knieën. Maar Jelle en ik heeft het niet gezien we waren nog huis bezig met onze huiswerk de hele dag. Maar niet helemaal, ikw as een kort tijd op het strand

Sorry for missing the past few

So this time in English to make up for all the Dutch only posts due to lack of time at night. The past few days have been fun! Going to the beach and relaxing the entire time with Harry Potter and the prisoner of Azkaban (which is almost done). Yesterday we went back to the beach for a each party that lasted until the early hours of the morning was definitely a high point of the weekend. It began poorly though, it was first only a few people out of the 50 or so who said they would show up. But then at around nine more and more people showed up and we began to have fun with Frisbee, drinks, the water, and what not. Then as it grew darker campfires began dotting the coast. I helped build one of the larger fires with a bunch of guys out of university and the army (paratroopers, marines, and yet another special forces guy). We got a nice bonfire going, sang songs withe a guitar and had a good time talking about many things. I felt like I was back at camp for a little bit. Then as it grew later and later I went back home but I didn't have my key! So I had to wait until Jelle came back too in order to go to bed.

Veel Plezier

Veel plezier voor iedereen richting Pinkpop gaan morgen. Vandaag was weer een leuk dag. Met een film in Engels, Nederlands was Nederlands, een productief dag bij scheikunde en dan ik hebben bijna alles af gemakt in mijn tussenuren. Bij ANW ik hebben niet zo veel gedaan behalve een beetje tweeking.
Na school ging Lotte en ik naar Vivaldi ijs. het was haar verjaardag's cadeau voor mij maar in Maart was het niet zo lekkere weer om een ijsje te haalen. Daarna ging ik naar de strand voor een kort tijd frisbeen en zwemen. morgen is dar een feest op het strand.

Have fun everyone going to Pinkpop  tomorrow. Today was another nice day. With a movie in English, Dutch was Dutch, a productive day in chemistry and I have almost everything finished in my study hours. In ANW I didnt do much except a little tweeking.

After school Lotte and I went to Vivaldi ice. It was her birthday present for me, but since March isn't that great for eating ice cream outside we had to wait a little bit. After that I went to the beach for a short time Frisbee and swimming. tomorrow is a party drone on the beach.

Perfect Weer

Lekkere kort dag met bio, naar het strand in gym, en na Engels terug naar het strand. Ook huiswerk voor dezenweek is bijna allemaal af! In gym heb ik een paar mensen Ultimate Frisbee geleerd, en we had een goed wedstrijd gespeeld. In Engels we waren naar het park geweest om teksten te lezen en beatwoorden. Daarna ging ik weer naar het strand en dar blijft ik tot half vijf of zo.

Mijn Rechter kant

Dar is iets fout met de rechts half van mijn lichaam. Het is altijd waar ik krijg de pijnlijk dingen, zoals mijn knie, schouder, en nu mijn voet al weer! Ik heb weer een probleem met mijn groot teen, dus tijd voor meer zout water baden, en veel water meer water.
Veder was vandaag een heel lange dag omdat het weer zo lekkere was een iedereen ging naar de strand. Eindelijk na wiskunde mag ik ook gaan, en het was was herijk fris. Ook ik hebben een goed stuk frisbee gespeeld. Morgen gingen we weer met gym en misschien een nog een keer na school. Ik ben wel zonebrand gebruiken dus zorg niet Mom.

Further today was a very lng day because the weather was so nice and everyone was going to the beach. Finally after math I got to go, and the water was nice a crisp. I also go to play a bit of frisbee! I am using sunscreen so don't worry Mom.

Mooi Weer

Ja terug in school. Na een heel leuk lang weekend is het tijd om te studeren. Met de heerlijk weer wil je natuurlijk niet maar jij kunnen we afspraken op de strand maken. Dat hebben we voor woensdag gedaan. Het water is nu al warmer en de lucht nog warmer. Met heel veel helder zon. Helaas omdat de velden zijn in slecht conditie we kunnen niet naar buiten gaan spelen voor gym. Inplaats van we hebben meer gymnastische gedaan.

Ik hebben alleen maar mijn Natuurkunde huiswerk te doen tot het begint van de nieuw hoofdstukken in andere klassen. Dus had ik meer tijd om de wc's, eten zal, en sportzal.

Werken, en spelen

Ja vandaag voelt as ik niet zo veel heft gedaan maar eigenlijk heb ik mijn wiskunde af, bio af, scheikunde af, ANW was af maar nu wil ik iets meer doen, en ook en nieuw liedje is in the works. Veder was het een rustig dag, het plan was te gaan roller skating maar het regent dus we kunnen niet.

Yeah today felt as if I did nothing but in fact I did a lot. Math, Bio, Chem, ANW (mostly after I decided I wanted more) are all done. I also have two new songs in the works. Further more was it a restful day, the plan was to go roller skating but the rain made it too dangerous on the ramps and pipe

Chillen met muziek

Vandaag was het al over het muziek met Wouter. We hebben heel veel geruild en een uitdaging gemaakt voor morgen. We gaan het "Beat The Clock" uitdaging doen van Ableton. We moeten een track in 24 uren maken met een soundpack van Ableton. Ik ben wel benieuw om hoe het uit komt. Ook Jelle en ik hebben frisbee gesppeld in het park met Lewis.

Later vanmiddag: meer muziek maken in Ableton, en ASOTNYC met EDCNYC! Ook Bayren vs. Chealsea en de verjaarsfeest feest van Kelly vanavond. Wow kan je vol zeggen?

Today was all about the music with Wouter. We exhanged tons of songs and made a challenge for tomorrow. We are going to take part in the "Beat The Clock" challenge from Ableton. We will have 24 hours with sounds from M83 Junior Boys and  Nosaj Thing. I am curious to see how it turns out. Also Jelle and I played frisbee in the park with Lewis.

Later this afternoon, more music making in Ableton, ASOTNYC with EDCNYC! Also Bayren & Chealsea en the birthday party for Kelly tonight. Wow can you say full?

FOAM en het Foto Vak School Amsterdam

Vandaag ik hebben alleen in het trein gezeten. Voor de rest van het dag waren Tieneke en ik op onze benen lopen door het kunst district van Amsterdam. Eerst gingen we naar FOAM voor het galerie van The New York Times Mag. Die foto's waren allemaal heel interessant en anders van elkaar. Van uit historische tijden op film, en digitale. Darnaa we had heel veel tijd om iets te doen. Een ding op het lijst was lunch maar het wacht lijst voor een koffie bij FOAM was 15 minuten! Dus we liep naar een klein broodje winkel. Ik hebben een nieuw favoriete broodje winkel nu, het was heerlijk! Dan een beetje rond lopen tot het tijd was voor het opening van het Istanbul tentoonstelling met een paar fotografen gemaakt door Tieneke. De rest waren van klasgenoten wie ging ook me naar Istanbul een paar werken geleden. De foto's waren erg interessant met heel veel verschillende perspectieven en focus. Omdat dar zo veel waren kun je een goeie beeld maken in jou hooft over het dagelijks leven in Istanbul.
Wouter komt tuis vandaag voor en kort tijd ook!

RAM

Vandaag heb ik een pakket van mijn vader gekregen met 8GB RAM (2x 4GB) en nu met de RAM is mijn computer veel sneller, en ook ik kan veel meer applicaties gebruiken in eens. Voor een voorbeeld van snelheid; Na het inloggen window het duurt maar drie seconden tot het is klaar. Dus dankejwel Dad!
Veder mijn herkansing ging redelijk goed. beter was mogelijk maar ja ik denk het voldoende is. Ook heb ik de gebouw stuk van mijn ANW P.O. afgemaakt. Dus nu moet ik al van de binnen kant netjes maken, en zo iets (zal best leuk worden). Na school ging ik met Wouter V. naar Noord Risdaam on voetbal te spelen. Ik moet vaker naar dat veld toe gaan omdat het is perfect voor frisbee ook.

Today I received a package with 8GB of RAM (2x 4GB) and now with the new RAM my computer is twice as fast, and I can finally use more than a few applications at a time. For an example of the speed; after logging in it takes but three seconds before the computer is ready. So thanks Dad!
Further, my retake went reasonably well. Also I have finished my building for ANW, now I just need to make it look nice. Should be fun. After school I went with Wouter V. to North Risdaam Park to play football (soccer) with a few of his friends in the nice weather. I should go there more often because its a perfect field for Frisbee and football (soccer).

Lekkere! Yummy!

Boven het mooie weer en goed lessen bij school, Jan gebakt een ui en spek cake. Het lijkt een beetje aan een quiche maar is iets anders. Het was herlijk en ik voel nog steeds vol van!
Veder ben ik bezig aan het leren en lezen. Morgen zou iet meer geburen met schermen, ik wil ook gaan hardlopen.

Above the great weather and good classes at school, Jan made an onion and ham cake. It's almost like a Quiche but a little different. It was delicious and i'm still full from it!
Further i've been been studying and ready. Tomorrow will be a little more interesting with Fencing, and I plan to go running.

Moeders Dag Mother's Day

Het is Moeders Dag vandaag en natuurlijk hebben we dingen voor Tineke gedaan. Jelle en Ik maakt het ontbijt, en hij heeft chocolatjes en een bad olie gegeven, en ik gaf een bloem die Tieneke hadden nog niet. Jan was weg omdat hij was probereen om het oude zeil boot te verkopen. Na het ontbijt we zatten rustig aan het beatels Abby Road te luisteren en onze boeken te lezen. Later heb ik met mijn moeder geskyped, mijn broertjes en zusje hebben ontbijt helemaal zelf gemaakt en ik ben heel trots op hen daarvoor.

Ook vandaag was ik bezig aan het wiskunde leren. Het hulpt niet dat veel mensen willen goeie dingen zeggen en vraagen over mijn podcast Something Old Something New and mijn twee tracks Beginning en Meer. jij kunnen hem beneden vinden:

It's Mothers Day today, and of course we have things done for Tineke. Jelle and I make breakfast, ande gave her little chocolates and bath oils, and I gave a type of flower that Tineke didn't have yet. Jan was away because he was trying to unit the old sail boat for sale. After breakfast we were sitting quietly at the Abby Road beatels our listening and reading books. Later I geskyped with my mother, my brothers and sister have breakfast made ​​from scratch and I'm very proud of them for that.

Today I was trying to learn mathematics. It didn't help that many people wanted to say good things about my podcast Something Old Something New and my two tracks Beginning and Meer. You can find them below:

Feesten! Partying!

Wow wat een feest. Vandaag was het verjaardag feest van Gwen en Leika bij het huis van Gwen met veel muziek, drank en gezelligheid. Een paar mensen zijn wel meer moe dan de rest maar het is al goed gelukt! Ik had een kans om mijn podcast te spelen. Niet de hele maar een goed deel.
Meer kan ik niet zeggen het was overall een gezellig dag en nacht met mooie weer!

Wow what a party. Today was the birthday party for Leika & Gwen at Gwen's house  with lots of drink music and fun. A few people are more tired than the rest but it's all good! I had a chance to play my podcast. Not the all the way through but a good part.

More I can not say. it was as overall a nice night and day with nice weather!

Klein onderzoekers Small researchers

Meik en ik zijn onderzoekers geworden met de rest van onze biologie klas. Onze onderzoek gaat over als jij kan maakt een plant meer efficiënt of sneller in fotosyntheses met verschillende soort lichten (gewone zon, gloei lamp, LED lamp).
In Natuurkunde we gaat veder meer de weten van Newton, en ook een nog een practicum. Wiskunde ging over logaritmes. Dus het is gewone leven hier vandaag, oh daar ik wel een ding. Ik hebben eindelijk nieuw schoenen gekocht omdat mijn trouwen oude Samba's zijn helemaal kapot. Ik heb bijna geen meer onderkant van mijn links schoen. Morgen zal ik foto's uploaden.

Meik and I have become researchers along with the rest of our biology class. We are researching how different sources of light can stimulate the photosynthesis process in plants. In Physics we learned more about the laws of Newton, and in math we went further with logarithms. So basically normal school, oh but the is one new thing. I finally bought new shoes after my trusty old sambas have finally had to retire. On sole of the left shoe is completely fallen off. I'll upload pictures tomorrow.

Allemaal Blij!

Vandaag was het echt leuk op school. Iedereen had een smile op zijn gezichten en het was een overal goeie sfeer. Ik denk dat iedereen nog blij was van het vakantie en ook om zijn vrienden weer te zien. Ook heeft bijna iedereen een stuk zon gekregen, ik dank dat het tijd is om het zon brand uit te pakken.

Gym met de derde klas was buiten en was softbal helaas. Natuurkunde gaat over de drie wetten van Newton dus als ik goed opletten kan ik heel goed doen op mijn toets omdat ik hebben die wetten al eerder geleerd.

Today was really nice at school. Everyone had a smile on their face and it was a good atmosphere throughout. I think everybody was still happy from the holiday and also to see their friends again. Also almost everyone has gotten a little sun, I thank that it is time for the sun screen.

Gym with the third class was outside and was unfortunately softball. Physics is about the three laws of Newton so if I pay attention I can do very well on my test because I have already learned those laws.

Tot ziens Frankrijk! So long France!

Met mijn laatst beticht uit Frankrijk ik wil zeggen hoe bijzonder een land het is. Met groot groot rivieren, kastelen, cuisine, bossen, en hoe het voelt echt als een oude America als je door rijd. Met mijn laatste lunch had ik weer heerlijk eten. Deze keer was het BBq vlees, préi, en een Frans toetje.
Ik hoor nu meer verschillende worden toen iemand prat. Ik weet nog steeds de betekenissen maar het was ook zo met mijn Nederlands, en kijk! Ik ben een blog in het Nederlands schrijven!
Het was heel leuk bij Bernard en Monique, met alle kastelen en ook proberen te gaan vliegen. Het was nog bijzondere om de mensen wie meting moeder gelogeerd toen ze in Frankrijk woont.
Op de politiek economisch kant kan ik makkelijk zien dat Frankrijk wel stabiel of stabieler is dan veel andere Europese landen, ik zacht niet zo veel te koop of te huur posten (drie eigenlijk), de auto's zijn een bijna allemaal Frans, en veel nieuw. Daar is een suiker tax, en ik vind dat wel een goed idee voor in de VS. Met politiek in zit in Frankrijk net op het moment van de verkiezingen. We zal weten wie het nieuw president is vanavond.
Nu tijd voor mijn reis terug naar Nederlands. Ik denk ik zal Frankrijk zekere weer zien!

Hollands Weer... Dutch weather...

Dit is Frankrijk, waarom hebben we zo veel wolken en mist? Haha wat kan je doen, het is het weer, en het doet wat hij wilt. De plan vandaag was te ga in een Ultra-Light vliegen. Maar het weer was niet goed genoeg en dus ik hebben alleen het vliegtuig gereed gemaakt. Na lunch; scheikunde huiswerk gedaan, en rust. Dan meer kastelen, en ook na eten Crêpes! Ook ever eten...het is fantastische heir! Alles is lekker, met vers vlees, brood, en veel kaas. Een andere ding is hoe het melk smaakt. Het is niet slecht maar gewone anders dan Nederlands melk. 

This is France, why do we have so many clouds and fog? Haha what can you do, it's the weather, and it does what it wants. The plan today was to go in an ultralight flying. But the weather was not good enough and so I only made the plane ready. After lunch; chemistry homework and rest. More than castles, and also after diner Crepes! Also about the food ... it's fantastic here! Everything is delicious, with fresh meat, bread, and many cheeses. Another thing is how the milk tastes. It's not bad but just different than Dutch milk.

Champignon! Muschrooms!

Vandaag was een reis binnen het kalksteen langs de rivier Le Loir. Binnen de stenen mannen heeben de sten gebruik om kastelen en kerken te bouwen en nu is het perfect milieu om champignon te groeien. Het is altijt twaalf graden binnen de stenen, en ook Helaas ik hebben geen foto's gemaakt van de binnen kant, maar ik kan zeggen dat daar zijn heel veel champignon. Ook we hebben de kerk van Saint Martin gezien. Veder niet zo veel omdat het weer begint slecht te worden.

Today was a trip into the Limestone that lines the river Le Loir. Inside men have used the stone to build castles and churches, and now it is the perfect environment to grow mushrooms. Unfortunately I didn't make any pictures but I can tell you that there were many many mushrooms there. We also visited the church of St. Martin. We didn't journey further because the weather began to deteriorate.

Zo Grote!

Het is bijzonder. Na mijn tijd in Nederland ik vind Nederland gewone grote. En nu een klein stukje uit Frankrijk ziet veel groter uit! Ik ben benieuwde om hoe grote de VS ziet voor mij uit wanneer ik terug gaan. Vandaag Monique en ik hebben een oude dorp en ook en kasteel gezien. Het was heel mooi en alles en gebouwde van de zand stenen. Ook zijn de stroom kabels boven de grond, nog een ding dat ik hebben niet gezien sinds de VS. Ik hebben een heel klein beetje Frans geleerd om te spreken maar ik ken ook stuk begrijpen!

Het kasteel was eerste een Roman fort, en daarna een andere kasteel. De stenen zijn dezelfde als de rest maar nu is er een plan om nieuw high-tech stenen te inbouwen omdat het begint onveilig te worden. De high-tech stenen zijn sterker, en ook zelf schoonmaken. Na onze tour van het kasteel Monique en ik ging naar een klein restaurant voor en drank en aan Bernard te wachten. Maar Bernard was bij het auto shop en het duurt veel langen dan was gedacht. Zo we wacht voor een uur of twee. Terug thuis, mijn moeder was op skype en het was een heel intersaant conversatie omdat het was in Frans, Engels, en ook soms Nederlands!

It's really weird how after my time in Holland I find it to be  of a normal size. And a small part of
France Seems HUGE! I wonder what the US will
look like for me. Today Monique and I walked through a small town on the Loire and visited the castle that presides over the region. The whole town looked very clean and pretty in the sandstone that makes almost everything in this region. Another similarity to the states is the power lines above the ground. In Holland everything in underground. I have also been learning more and more French apparently. Even though I still can't speak, I can listen and understand a small bit!

The castle was first a Roman fort, and then another castle. The stones are the same as the rest of the area but now there is a plan for new high-tech stones to be used because its begining to become unsafe. The high-tech stones are stronger, and even are self cleaning. After our tour of the castle Monique and I went to a small restaurant for a drink and wait to Bernard. But Bernard was at the auto shop and it lasted much long than expected. So we waited for an hour or two. Back home, my mother was on skype and it was a very interesting because the conversation was in French, English, Dutch and sometimes!

Bernard en Monique

Ik ben nu al in Frankrijk, bouten Tours bij de Cambulas. Toen mij moeder eerste in Frankrijk wont het was bij Bernard en Monique. Hier ze leert het taal en de cuisine van Frankrijk. Zij was 18 en ik ben 17 dus het passed wel. Het weer in magnifieke met zon een warmte! De treinen waren makkelijk en in Brussels Zuid heb ik met en Californian gesproken. Oh ja, omdat het was goedkoper (ik weet niet hoe) mijn hein reis was in de eerste klas, en op Thayls , het eerste klas is fantastische. Gratis snel wifi, eten en dranken zijn betaald door jou ticket, and de stoelen zijn enorme! In Frankrijk Bernard en Monique wacht bij het station en van daar we rijden naar zijn huis.
Dat was gister en vandaag we hebben en klein tour gemaakt tussen de Châteauen in dit regio. Ze zijn heel mooi en grote! Het weer was nog steeds heel mooi en als het blijft zo mooi we zullen ga naar een klein vlieg veld en ga vliegen in een Ultra Light op vrijdag.
Natuurlijk is communicatie een beetje moeilijk omdat het engels van Bernard en Monique is niet zo goed in mijn Frans is nog slechter. Maar ik ben leren. Dat is alles voor nu, fijn vakantie!

I am now in France, outside of Tours with the Cambulas. When my Mom lived in France it was with the Bernard and Monique. Here she learned the language and the cuisine of France. She was 18 and I am now 17 so it works out well. The weather is amazing with sun and plenty of warmth! The trains getting here were easy and in Brussels south I ran into a Californian and chatten with him for a little bit. Oh I almost forgot, because the tickets were some how cheaper I was sitting in the first class on Thayls and the TGV. Its greet there with free fast internet, and you don't have to pay for the food and drinks because you already did with your ticket (Which was nice since it was the cheaper option). Also the chairs are huge. In France Bernard and Monique were waiting for me at the station, and then we drove to their house.
That was yesterday and today we made a small tour of the Châteaus in the region. They are all magnificent and huge! The weather is still really nice, and if it stays like this we will be going flying in an ultra light on friday or saturday.
Of course communication is difficult because Bernard and Monique don't speak very good english and my French is even worse. But I am learning. Thats all for now, have a nice vacation!

Koninginnenacht & Dag!

Zo de afgelopen dagen was helemaal vol met feesten! De hele van Nederland was buiten feesten en op zondag was ik in Amsterdam voor Koninginnenacht met Meg, Jane, Aluka, en heel veel andere Amsterdamers en ook buiten landers (meer dan genoeg valley girls van uit de VS...)! Het was geweldig, de hele nacht door feesten bij verschillende podiums, en door Amsterdam lopen. Maar eerste ik had de groepje gemist bij het station en dus was spoor los voor en uur. Maar uit eindelijk liep ik naar het juist plek en het word gezellig daarna! We probeert om Julia, Jet, en Lotte te zien maar het was heel te druk en ook de mobile netwerk begint langzamer te lopen.

Toen iedereen klaar was gingen we naar het station om de nacht bus te halen. Het was heel laat toen we terug kwam maar ik was nog steeds wel wakker. I ging naar slaap om ses uur en was wakker rond twaalf uur. Dan om twee uur was ik weer bij een feest. Deze keer op de rode stenen in Hoorn met veel van mijn klasgenoten. Veel Nederlands muziek, en ook dance. Met twee DJs, een zon!

Gratis IPodtouch

Zo een paar manden geleden Jan heeft een IPod touch gevonden op de straat. We maakt contact met de politie maar niks terug. Dus eindelijk ik ging naar het iCenter in Hoorn om te vragen als het mogelijk is te zien we heeft de iPod gekocht. Maar ze mag niet dat zien, maar ze zegt dat sinds niemand heeft contact gemaakt voor zo lang we mag de iPod hebben. Het is nu helemaal reset naar het fabriek instellingen, en de plan is dat Jelle mag het gebruiken, wanner hij terug komen na deze week bij het zeil/surf school in Friesland.

Tineke en Jan blijft thuis inplaats van naar Oudega te gaan omdat het zo zeer slecht weer was vandaag. Nederland is bijna klaar voor koninginnedag, en ik voor ook koninginnenacht! Ik heb zo zin in!

So a few months ago Jan found an iPod touch on the street. We contacted the police to tell them that we had found it. Since then we have heard from nobody. Then today I finally went to the iCenter in Hoorn to see if it would e possible to see who bought it. But they weren't aloud to do that. But they said that since had been so long that we may keep the iPod. It's now be reset to the factory settings and then plan is to give it to Jelle when he returned from his week of sail/surf school.

Tineke and Jan stayed in Hoorn instead to going to Oudega because the weather was awful, and Jan wants to bike across the Afsluitdijk. Holland I almost ready for koninginnedag, and I am ready for konininnenacht! I'm really excited for this!

Wat een lang en leuk dag! Vandaag na mijn gewone lessen ging ik met Yentle, Joëlle, Grijs, Britt, Noor, een een paar meer mensen uit de verschillende CKV klassen naar het Nederlandse Opera voor muziek en dance werkshops en ook het opera Il Turco In Italia. Maar tussen de werkshops en het opera ging we rondjes lopen en eten halen met onze vijf. Bij Rembrandt square was dar een man gitaar spelen en zingen. Het was goed en elke liedje was mooi rustig of interessant. Dus hij maakt het gezellig om u. De square te zitten.

Il Turco in Italia gaat over een ingewikkeld liefde driehoek. En was een moderne renditie. Het duurt 4 uur lang met een pauze. Het was heel leuk en ook bijzonder. Met een moderne set, en ook een paar stukjes waar je dacht; "echt? Dit is een opera?". Maar uit eindelijk het was heel leuk, en ik hebben een paar meer kennissen gemaakt met mensen uit de andere klasen.

Het was 24:15 toen we komen eindelijk terug. iedereen was heel moe en had niet zo veel zin in om terug naar huis te fietsen.

Leuk gewone dag

Het was een leuk dag vandaag. Heel normaal maar in een gooi manier. Het begint was ook goed met ANW. We hebben een nieuw project beginnen en het is om een groen gebouw te maken in Google SketchUp. Ik hebben nooit zo'n programma gebruikt maar het is vet makkelijk voor mij! Ik maakt een paar klein tekeningen op papier en nu ik heb de bases in het programma. Ik moet de buitenkant (ramen, posten, deuren, etc...), een het binnen kant (alles) nog maken. De bedoeling is dat netvlies groen is dus ik moet ook over dat denken. Daarnaar het dag ging snel. Wiskunde als altijd is makkelijk in het begint van het hoofdstuk, en scheikunde is niet te moeilijk (maar nog een uitdagen).
Toen ik fiets terug naar huis, een paar jongeren van de derde klas gym waren op de dezelfde weg fietsen. Een had een loos ketting en wij moest eerste naar het fietspaden gaan. Dit uiteindelijk was handig voor mij want daar kunnen wij onze banden opvullen en ook wacht voor het regen te stoppen.
Bij thuis was ik meestal aan de slaag met huiswerk, kijken Google SketchUp tutorials, en wiskunde huiswerk. Ik hebben niet zo veel over Lewis gezegd maar zij was/is ziek sinds vorig week met een virus. Vandaag volgens Tineke is een van de laatste dagen voor zij niet ziek is.

Today was nice day. A very normal day but in a good way. It started off well in ANW with us receiving a new project/chapter. This time it's about architecture. We are to build a "green" building using Google SketchUp. I have never used such a programs but it is amazingly easy for me! In just an afternoon I have finished my sketches and have the building itself without anything other than windows finished. Now I just need to make the outside look nicer and also do the inside. That should take some time and also to improve the design to add space or beauty. Math went by really quickly, and as usual was easy since its the first part of the new chapter. Chemistry was also not so hard but it was will a challenge.
On my way home I met up with a few guys from the freshman gym class and one of them had a broken bike chain so we headed over to the bikeshop. Taking the extra trip there actually was helpful because then I could fill up my tires and we could wait out the rain.
At home I focused the entire afternoon on learning how to use SketchUp and also the rest of my math homework. I haven't said much about Lewis lately but she has been sick the past week with a virus. Today according to Tineke is probably one of the last days that she will be sick fortunately.

Vreemd Weer

Het is echt op alle kanten vandaag. Bij sommige plekken zoals bij mij school was het heel hard aan het regenen, toen bij thuis was het helemaal wit met hagel. Of het was droog met zon. Al in een paar kilometers.

Twee ander jongeren en ik waren vroeg op het gym en dus het eerste om het opdracht voor de dag te krijgen, en dat was voetbal op het grote veld. Maar tien minuten later en nutter komt niemand naar buiten, dus we gaan naar binnen te zien dat iedereen spelt trefbal! Het was meer grappig dan vervelend want we zijn helemaal nut en de rest van de klas lekker droog, en bet was leuk spelen in het regen.

Daarna had ik het natuurkunde presentatie. Het ging redelijk goed. Het systeem werkt en alles klopt. Dus ik hoop dat we een hoog cijfer krijgt. Ik heb ook een paar cijfers terug van het toets week maar geen die heel bijzonder zijn. Maar ik zal zeggen dat ze zijn echt niet zo mooi.

Vanmiddag tot avond was ik bezig met meestal biologie vertalen en ook CKV recensies schrijven.


The weather was really all over the place today. Such as when it was pouring at my school, it was hailing just as hard back home, or a few kilometers away was it completely dry with sun!

Two other boys and I were early to gym And so we were the forest to learn what we were doing today. The original plan was to go outside and play soccer and so that is what we did. By the time we were totally soaked we realized no one was coming outside so we went in a found that very one was playing dodgeball instead. It really was more funny that annoying because we were totally wet, and they forgot about us.

After that I had the physics presentation which went pretty well. The circuit worked and everything went well. So I hope we got a good grade. I also have a few of my grades back from the exam week. There is nothing to exciting to speak of, other than that they aren't very high.

Oh also the school photos came in and it was one of my better school pictures! Also the class photo is really nice!

Ableton, en Pages Dag

De weer is aan een af vandaag dus het was niet makkelijk om dingen buiten te doen. Dus mijn dag was weer vol met lezen de eerste ses hoofdstukken van Harry Potter en het Gegeide Kamer, spelen met Ableton Live, en andere programmaatjes, een beetje schon maken, en ook ik hebben de eerste paragraf van Biologie af gemaakt en bijna de tweede. Ik wil dat in dit laatste stuk van de jaar zal ik alleen hog cijfers krijgen. Ik zal ook beginnen met scheikunde vertalen vanavond denk ik.

Vanmiddag was het meestal zon met veel wind. Ik hoop dat straks blijft het zo (met iets minder wind natuurlijk).

The weather is very on and off today, and so it made going outside to do anything a little difficult. So my day was again ful of reading the first six chapters of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, playing around with Ableton Live, and other programes, a bit of cleaning, and also I finished the first section of the new biology chapter. I want only to get good grades in the list part of the year. I think I will start also with translating chemistry tonight.

Messa di Gloria in Enkhuizen

nog meer muziek vandaag. jan heeft een concert in Enkhuizen en Tineke en ik zat bij om te luisteren. Het was in het oost kerk. De muziek was het Messa di Gloria van Giacomo Puccini. Het koor was heel goed, ook de solisten. Het was jammer dat sinds de kerk zo grote was, dar was een grote echo en het maakt soms van de text moeilijk te verstaan. Na het concert zijn dar veel mensen van het Carmina en ik hebben natuurlijk Hallo gezegd.

De bloemen velden zijn bijna klaar met rij na rij van kleuren. Ook dar was een auto met het moto helemaal uit gebrand, bij het station in Enkuizen!

Chinese, Harry Potter is bijna klaar

Van morgen had ik Chinese bij school. Het les was een combinatie van geschiedenis en ook het taal zelf. In het werkshop met mij was Tom, Lotte, Miek, Max, Mike, een een paar andere vrienden. Het was een leuk werkshop, en nu heb ik een mooie caracter op dikke papier ook. Voor de rest van de ochtend tot rond 1 uur zat ik in het park lezen Harry Potter. Ik heb bijna klaar met maar één hoofdstuk nog! Voor de rest van de dag was ik rustig meer lezen, muziek maken, een meer lezen.

This morning I had Chinese at school. The lesson was a combination of history and the language itself. In the work shop with me were Tom, Lotte, Miek, Max, Mike, a few other friends. It was a fun work shop, and now I have a nice caracter on thick paper too. For the rest of the morning until about 1 o'clock I was sitting in the park reading Harry Potter. I'm almost done with only one chapter yet! For the rest of the day I was just chilling with reading, music making, and more reading.

Schermen bij School

Vandaag slaapt ik lekkere uit, tot Jan heeft zijn sleutel vergetten. Maar het was goed omdat ik eerder wekere was en had een kans om meer van Harry Potter en mijn Biologie boeken te lezen. Dan om één uur ging ik Schermen met een paar klas genoten van mij bij Always Forward. Het was alleen maar sabel, maar ik probeerd wel om te denken in het sabel en niet in floret. Maar dit kwam slecht terug want waneer ik en een andere floret schermen makt een voorbeeld voor de andere mensen hij had niet probeert om sabel te spelen met de oefeningen dus hij was nog in het floret denken. Ik had 5-0 verloren. Daarnaar we hebben een 15 punt wedstrijd gespeld en daar heb ik gewonen 15-8.

Bij thuis was het avond heel ingewikkeld en ik was weer aan het koken maar ik let niet op met de rijst dus was was aan gebakt, en niet het juist texturen toen de het klaar was.

Glued to the Floor

Het begint van de dag was heel leuk. Ik was bij het film huis op half tien en we hebben de Intouchables gezien. Het is een heel goeie film, in Frans maar het Nederlands ondertiteling. Ook de beelden waren heel goed dus het was makkelijk om te volgen. Toen de film klaar was ik ging voor een paar minuten naar het binnenstad en daarna naar huis. Ik was huis tot twee uur toen ik ging naar Wouter om te gamen op een PS3, één ding ik hebben niet gedaan sinds ik in de VS was. Dan terug naar huis om te eten, en snel naar schermen. Bij schermen ging het slecht mijn lichaam was heel zwaar en niks klopt voor mij. Dus dat was jammer...

The beginning of my day started off pretty well. First with going to the Film House at half past nine to see the Intouchables. It was a very good movie in my opinion. It was completely in French with dutch subtitles but the film was so good that it was easy to follow even without understanding parts of the dialogue. After that I was quickly in the city before heading home for a little bit. At two I went to Wouter's to do a little gaming on his PS3. I haven't played on a game console in over a year!
After going home for dinner I was quickly off to fencing were it didn't go so well. I felt heavy and out of balance. Nothing really worked. So that was a bummer...

Muzikaal, kolonisten, twister, en Trampoline!

Wauw vandaag was volle maar ook erg leuk. Het begint van de dag was een wel lang maar mooi workshop over muzikalen met Jet, Tom, Maarten, Roy, en een paar meer mensen. Het duurt best wel lang, en dat was het énige probleem. We hebben het geschiedenis van muzikalen in de VS en in Nederland natuurlijk geleerd. Ook The Phantom of The Opera gezien.
Daarna ging Jet en ik naar de huis van Wouter voor we ging naar Jet's voor kolonisten en avond eten. Bij Wouter had ik de eerste keer dat iemand wist niet na het eerste zin dat ik een buitenlander was. Het was het moeder van Wouter maar mijn Nederlands was niet goed genoeg, ik moet meer oefenen doen. Bij Jet heb ik twee keer verloren in Kolonisten. Ik hebben bijna de tweede rond gewonen maar ik had niet genoeg stenen. Eten was lekker Nasi, dat Jet's moeder heeft gemaakt. Na eten Jet, Wouter, Louise, David, en ik spelt een dansen spel op de Xbox en daarna op de trampoline. Het was quartvoor negen toen we begint om terug fietsen. Geluk was dar niet zo veel wind!
